Protein is essential, and I mean downright CRITICAL, if you want to build hot and sexy, figure competitor-worthy muscle. The benefits of whey protein to muscle building  is as important as water is to fish.

However, you need the carbs post-workout for this immediate absorption to take place.  Believe me, your muscles will THANK you for that and it will also knock down muscle soreness.
