What You Need to Know About Your Figure Competition Training

Figure competition training is an important aspect to your contest prep.  If you really want to build a well-balanced and developed physique, your workout has to be intense and you have to train the proper way to get the results you want.  The mere thought of getting on stage can be quite intimidating.  But, if you do the work before hand to put on the muscle that the judges want to see, you will be well ahead of the game. Figure competition training can take some precision at times, so here are a few tips to get you started.

The Weakest Link

To build a great body presentable on stage, you need to build some solid muscle mass.  You do this through your figure competition training.  However, the real secret lies in working and building your weakest muscle group to bring it up to speed with the rest of your body.  Prioritize your weak areas for overall physique improvement.

The Compound Effect

Your figure training should include compound exercises.  A compound exercise targets all the heads in the working muscle group simultaneously.  A compound exercise ensures that the targeted muscle gets hit completely for best possible muscle development.  The real secret lies in doing a compound exercise at the start of your workout.

For best muscle stimulation, your training should include more free weights over machines when possible.  Free weights are the barbells and dumbbells.  Using them calls upon the stabilizing muscles, resulting in more power and strength, and in the end, more muscle mass.
