Admit it. You want to be a figure competition success story.  I mean, who doesn’t?  I know you’ve seen those figure goddesses in the latest fitness and muscle magazines. You may have even to been to a bodybuilding competition just to get a better glimpse at the finely-tuned condition those women get in.

If getting in such great shape or entering a figure contest ever crossed your mind, here are a few tips you can implement to be a figure competition success!

To effectively prep for your figure contest, you should have a full year of good solid weight training under your belt.  You need to have that solid foundation built so you can properly sculpt your muscles for a stunning stage presentation.

A quality workout program should include a decent balance of cardio and weight training to build muscle. You can keep your body fat at bay with appropriate cardio workouts.

Figure Competition Success Prep Tip #2

Your contest prep diet is key to getting in top shape.   Your contest prep diet should be different from your off-season nutrition.  Regardless of which phase you are in, it is necessary to eat a wide-variety of nutrients that are rich in fiber, protein, and carbs derived from fresh and natural, and even organic sources.

When you start your contest prep diet begin to wean off and eliminate processed foods.  Such foods slow down your body’s ability to burn off fat.

The little trick in figure competition dieting is tweaking your diet every week or two so your body turns into a fat-burning furnace.

Figure Competition Success Prep Tip #3

You need to do your homework if you want to be a figure competition success.  Your homework involves such things as attending competitions, taking photos for study material, and rubbing elbows with other competitors you feel you can gain some insight from.  You need to learn your figure poses and learn to pose the right way.  Once you know your poses, you can use the photos and videos you took to further advance your posing skills.  You will also need to get some information on posing suits such as the styles, cuts and colors and what looks best for your overall physique.  The trick is to find out what the judges are looking for, then given it to them and blow them away.
