Natural bodybuilding workouts are mainstream these days. Since the debut of The Biggest Loser, gyms across the country are packed.  People are working out, trying to get in shape.  With more and more people in the gym, body transformations are still a rare thing to see.  Most people you watch throughout a year of training look the same at the end of the year.

In this short article I’m going to let you in on how to get the most out of your workouts so you can transform.

Bodybuilding Training Splits

Your workout should follow a certain path so you stimulate each muscle fully. Just going in the gym and training with no rhyme or reason will produce minimal results.  You need a plan of action.

Ideally, you want a training split that allows for optimal muscle stimulation with enough rest time for muscle growth.  There are several different training splits you can choose from.

Training Split Examples:

Train 2 days on, 1 day off
Workout every other day
Do a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday split

Your training split can be any variation you like which provides balance in the form of muscle breakdown and recovery.  The biggest mistake you can make is to overtrain.  However, 87% of the people working out are overtraining. Even when they are told they are, they continue to overtrain.  If people will just listen and trust the program, results will come quickly and easily.

In order to build muscle and not waste time and energy, your workouts should follow a path of progression.  Ideally, you want to work from the largest part of the muscle down.  For example, when you are training triceps, target the long head first and work down until you are hitting the short head.

In addition to the way you train a muscle, you also want to start off with a compound exercise.  This allows you to stimulate all the heads and fibers simultaneously.

Example of How to Properly Stimulate the Shoulders

Shoulder press
Front raises
Rear deltoid row
Lateral raises

With the shoulder workout above, you can see how we start with the largest muscle using a compound exercise and work down to the smallest with an isolation exercise.  Use this type of muscle stimulation format on all muscle groups.  Work every muscle group in this fashion and you will begin to build amazing muscle 100% naturally.
