Bodybuilding at 30

Is 30 Linked to a Slow Metabolism?

By Karen Sessions NSCA-CPT
aka: MsFit

Learn The Most Prized Women's Bodybuilding Tips And Techniques To Build Muscle And Melt Body Fat!

Discover The Truth About Weight Loss And How To Keep It Off For The Rest Of Your Life!

People are always talking about how their metabolism slows down the older they get. Thirty is now looked upon as middle age. It's obvious to see why. The average person lives to be roughly 65 years old in today's "high-tech" way of living. With all this technology you would think people would live longer. That's an entire different rant and newsletter though. I simply stated it to put a bug in your ear and we can address it in another article or on my forum.

Let's get to the meat of this newsletter. A slow metabolism is not due to aging per se, but is due to toxins collected in the body over time. Toxins are what lead to early aging. In addition to being chemically compacted, a slow metabolism is also due to:

  • Loss of Muscle Mass
  • Inactivity
  • Dehydration
  • Overeating
  • Bad Food Choices
  • Toxins

As you review the above, you can see that all of these factors can be altered to some degree that allows you to change your body from a fat storing unit to a fat burning furnace. The human body is resilient. It can repair itself from years of destruction under the right circumstances. However, the key is consistency.

Beginning Competitors Over 30

If you think it's too late to get fit, think again. I have many e-clients and members of my forum who started working out and getting fit in their thirties and some in their forties. This just goes to prove that it's never too late and that 30 IS NOT midlife.

Spice competed in her first bodybuilding contest at 35.

Dixie Chick is another beautiful competitor who is now 39.

These are just a few examples of beautiful ladies who finally decided to do what they always wanted to do.

So now that you know that it's never too late and that you can repair damage, even at a cellular level. Let's talk a little about how we can correct each of these areas to get you in the best shape of your life and if it's part of your goal, get you on the competitive stage.

The First Attempt to Increasing the Metabolism

Now the first thing many people will try to do to increase their metabolism is supplement with the latest thermogenic. While thermogenics are fine in my opinion, it's not the first and ideal way to tackle the dilemma. You should start by correcting the problem from the inside and work outward. Supplements are just that, to supplement. They can't do the job by themselves. Just think of them a as motivator. They work better when everything else is in sync.

The Best Way to Increase Your Metabolism at Any Age

Tackle Each Problem

Loss of muscle mass - When you become less active and lose muscle mass, it will be much easier for fat to creep up on you and it will seem to creep up overnight! Muscle tissue increases your metabolism and aids in burning body fat. Adding resistance training to your exercise program is a big step toward increasing your metabolism at any age.

Inactivity - Inactivity is one of the reasons many are so overweight these days. Many people become inactive as they get older. This can start as early as 16! Inactivity can also start after high school graduation, and in others it can start after a marriage. No matter when it happens, you must reverse this issue if you want to increase your metabolism and direct your body to burn more fat.

Get moving, get active - Do something each day to exercise the body via cardiovascular and/or weight training. As the ole saying goes, use it or lose it!

Figure and Fitness Model Secrets REVEALED!

Dehydration - Lack of proper fluid intake can also be attributed to a sluggish metabolism. Many are very unaware of this. Water hydrates the cells to allow them to function properly and optimally.

A HUGE misconception of water retention is linked with increased water consumption. Drinking water DOES NOT cause fluid retention. A lack of proper hydration is one of the reasons many feel bloated and the fluid retention sensation.

Water helps to flush toxins, sodium, and fat out when your diet and exercise are in proper balance. Failure to hydrate your body properly can slow down your metabolism and hinder fat loss.

Overeating - It's not a surprise that overeating is on this list. There are many reasons people overeat, extending from boredom to emotional issues.

Another reason people may tend to overeat is due to the many ingredients put into processed food many relay on for "dieting". These ingredients are chemicals that make you hungry and addicted to the product, resulting in overeating. The more you crave their product, the more you buy and the more money they make. The food industry's goal is not to make you healthy or fit. Their primary goal is profit. The dirty little secrets of the food industry keeps you at their whim unless you get educated and take action.

Bad food choices - This can go hand-in-hand with overeating to an extent. Many people would prefer to look over this one and just focus on eating less and getting more active. However, this is a big aspect when is comes to your metabolism and overall health. What you put into your body has a direct effect on your health, including the rate you lose body fat and gain muscle.

If you are putting artificial foods that contain an array of chemicals into your system, your body cannot process them and they just sit your stomach and become toxic. These toxins build and build and before long they completely destroy your metabolism and overall health.

Toxins - This is very important and I am going to put a lot of focus on this. Toxins seep into our bodies in many ways. We can receive toxins through our tainted water supply, the polluted air we breathe, chemically enhanced soaps and lotions, toothpaste, processed foods, pesticides, food additives, prescription drugs, the list just goes on and on.

These toxins get into your cells and make your blood pH level acidic. When you are acidic your body is not able to burn body fat or build muscle as it should. This is one on the main reasons people can't seem to lose body fat no matter how hard they try. What's worse is that people are becoming more acidic at a younger and younger age. On a separate note, this acidic condition is the leading cause of early aging and degenerative diseases. Read last months Female Bodybuilding Newsletter on Acidic Bodybuilders to get the full understanding of what I'm talking about.

Get Contest Ready and Stomp the Competition!

If you want to lose stubborn fat, build lean muscle tissue easier and faster, feel better and look younger, you MUST detoxify your system. You have to get the toxic junk out of your body if you expect to lose weight, build muscle, and be vibrant. There is no other way around it. Once you detox your body, choose better food items and exercise you will be amazed at how quickly and efficiently you can lose body fat and build muscle.

Let me give you a simple visual. To keep you car in good working condition and make it fuel efficient you should fuel up and get regular oil changes. If you pour mud into your car in place of oil because it's cheaper, you just destroyed your engine; simple as that. Our bodies are similar, but fortunately for us, our bodies are more resilient and can be repaired. Please take advantage of this!

How do we repair our bodies and metabolism? It's simple; we just start detoxifying and stop putting toxins in it. The primary goal is to make the blood pH neutral rather than acidic.

Detoxifying your body does not have to require a fast. In fact, you can actually purge the toxins simply and easily by simply soaking in a mineral bath designed to do just this.

For starters, begin by using a toxin free soap to bathe in, wash your hair, and brush your teeth with it as well. Since your skin is the largest organ on your body, it absorbs anything that comes in contact with it in minutes! Many personal hygiene products you use contain so many harmful ingredients that if taken internally, it would kill you!

For example, Lady's Choice Antiperspirant's back label reads, "Drug Facts" Aluminum Chlorohydrate; for external use only; if swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Now I know very few will actually eat a stick of deodorant, but do you see my point?

Your skin absorbs thousands of chemical and toxins through commercial products that the FDA approves! These toxins are getting into your system faster via skin. And we wonder why we are overweight, can't lose fat, are sick and have degenerative diseases. Wake up. Evidence is everywhere. You just need to get the facts and get on the right track.

Alternatives

I'm not a huge promoter of supplements because in my experience I only found a few choice supplements which I think actually work under the right conditions, such as glutamine, creatine, L-Carnitine, HCA, thermos, and amino acids. Thease and many others can be found on my supplement page.

To the above list I'm adding an all natural, toxin free Soap. This is a product that I believe in 100% wholeheartedly. You can literally cut down on toxins that enter your body by simply changing your personal hygiene habits.

Next on my list is the Neutralizer, a product that actually balances your bloods pH level and makes you less acidic. When your blood pH is neutral, you are more apt to burn stored body fat, build lean muscle tissue, feel better and look younger.

The Soap and Neutralize work together and you use them to your benefit by soaking in both once a day for 30 to 45 minutes in very warm water to open the pores. Yes, detoxifying and reshaping your body can be as easy as taking a relaxing mineral bath and there are testimonials to prove this.

.  I personally lost two pounds of body fat by only adding the soaks to my program. I did not change my diet, cardio, or training. I just detoxified and balanced my bloods pH level. It's amazing what the body is capable of under the right conditions.

.  Another lady lost 45 pounds by soaking twice a day for six months. She did not change her diet or add any exercise.

So how does one lose weight by soaking? The Natural Soap is toxin free so you are not putting chemicals in your body and the Neutralizer actually balances the bloods pH levels making it less acidic. When your blood pH is neutral, fat is released from the cells and allowed to be burned.

If you would like a sample packet of these products plus a cassette, information brochures, product guide, and pH test sticks, just send $10.00 to me to cover cost and shipping.

Conclusion

When you make detoxifying a part of your everyday life, you will be in much better control of fat loss and muscle gain. I have seen results first hand and I don't promote anything that I don't use or don't believe in.
